Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice is a flavorful, buttery rice dish seasoned with herbs and spices, making it a perfect side for any hearty meal.

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon paprika for mild smokiness

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until water runs clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add rice, butter, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, thyme, salt, pepper, and paprika (if using) to the boiling water.
  4. Stir well, then reduce heat to low and cover with a tight-fitting lid.
  5. Simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, substitute water with chicken broth and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
