  • About 30 strawberry-flavored kiss candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined to form the dough.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  8. Immediately press one strawberry kiss candy into the center of each warm cookie.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes until the kiss softens slightly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
