Sour Cream and Onion Egg Noodles are a creamy, flavorful side dish featuring tender egg noodles tossed in a tangy sour cream and onion sauce, perfect for a quick and comforting meal.

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped green onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and slightly softened.
  4. Stir in the garlic powder and onion powder, cooking for another 30 seconds.
  5. Reduce heat to low and add the sour cream, mixing thoroughly to combine into a smooth sauce.
  6. Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet, coating them evenly with the sour cream and onion sauce.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.

Notes

For added protein, mix in some cooked shredded chicken or crispy bacon bits before serving.
