shrimp casserole

This creamy shrimp casserole combines tender shrimp with a cheesy sauce and a crispy breadcrumb topping for a comforting and flavorful seafood dish.

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, black pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Add cooked rice, chopped onions, celery, peas, and shrimp to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  5. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
  6. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of Old Bay seasoning or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before baking.
