Delectable Samoa Caramel Apple Slices

Enjoy the flavors of a Samoa cookie in a healthier treat! These caramel apple slices are drizzled with chocolate, caramel, and toasted coconut for a delicious and easy dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced into rounds
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, store-bought or homemade
  • 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream (optional, for thinning caramel)
  • Sea salt flakes, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Core and slice the apples into approximately 1/2 inch thick rounds. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  2. If your caramel sauce is too thick, gently warm it in the microwave or on the stovetop, stirring in the heavy cream until it reaches a drizzling consistency.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  4. Drizzle the caramel sauce and melted chocolate over the apple slices.
  5. Sprinkle the toasted coconut over the caramel and chocolate.
  6. If desired, sprinkle with a few sea salt flakes.
  7. Serve immediately or chill for later. Best enjoyed within a few hours.

Notes

For easier slicing, use an apple corer to remove the core before slicing. Toast the coconut in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently, until golden brown. You can also use other apple varieties, but tart apples like Granny Smith provide a nice balance to the sweetness.
