Korean BBQ Beef

Korean BBQ Beef is a flavorful and tender grilled dish marinated in a savory-sweet sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner that bursts with authentic Korean flavors.

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef ribeye
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • Fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, green onions, rice vinegar, gochujang, sesame seeds, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Grill the marinated beef slices for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  6. Remove from heat and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice and kimchi or your favorite Korean side dishes.

Notes

For an extra smoky flavor, try grilling over charcoal or adding a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds just before serving.
