Ground Beef Pasta

Classic Ground Beef Pasta

This Ground Beef Pasta is a comforting and easy weeknight meal. It combines savory ground beef with a rich tomato sauce, all tossed with your favorite pasta for a quick and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound pasta (such as spaghetti, penne, or rotini)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or pot, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain well.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the ground beef sauce and toss to coat.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a splash of red wine to the sauce while it simmers. You can also add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms to the sauce.
