Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 cups warm water (105-115°F)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and 1/4 cup olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. Lightly oil a large bowl and place the dough inside, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with olive oil.
  6. Gently punch down the dough and transfer it to the prepared baking pan. Use your fingers to press the dough to fill the pan.
  7. Drizzle generously with olive oil. Use your fingers to poke dimples all over the surface of the dough.
  8. Sprinkle the minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and rosemary (if using) evenly over the dough. Finish with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a drizzle of balsamic glaze for an extra touch of flavor. Focaccia is best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
