Garlic Bread

Crispy, buttery garlic bread with a perfect golden crust, ideal as a side for Italian meals or a savory snack.

  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian baguette
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the bread loaf in half lengthwise.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  5. For cheesy garlic bread, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  6. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the edges are golden and the butter is melted.
  8. Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispy top, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  9. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture or serve alongside marinara sauce for dipping.
