  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until cookies are set but still soft in the center.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra fudgy cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Serve with cold milk for the ultimate treat.
