This creamy garlic butter shrimp is a rich and flavorful dish featuring succulent shrimp cooked in a luscious garlic butter sauce, perfect for a quick and elegant dinner.

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, then cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to low and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and stir in Parmesan cheese, cooking gently until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add lemon juice and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the creamy garlic butter sauce to coat evenly.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle red pepper flakes for some heat or serve with a side of steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
