Cottage Cheese Tots are a healthy, protein-packed snack that combines creamy cottage cheese with crispy golden tots, perfect for a quick appetizer or kid-friendly treat.

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, shredded cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix thoroughly until the mixture holds together well.
  3. Shape the mixture into small tot-sized cylinders or balls.
  4. Heat cooking spray or a few tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Fry the tots in batches, cooking each side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a baked version, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake tots on a greased sheet for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway, until golden.
