  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass or your hand.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar before serving for an extra festive touch.
