Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of chewy and crispy textures, loaded with rich chocolate chips for a delightful treat.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.
  6. Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are nicely browned.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a softer cookie, slightly underbake and store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
