Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Moist and flavorful, this Chocolate Chip Banana Bread combines ripe bananas with sweet chocolate chips for a deliciously comforting treat perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas with melted butter.
  3. Add brown sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  4. Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in.
  5. Add flour and fold until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For an extra nutty flavor, add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter before baking.
