Deliciously cheesy and savory Cheddar Bay Sausage Balls combine sharp cheddar, flavorful sausage, and herb-infused biscuit mix to create the perfect appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb spicy sausage
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups biscuit baking mix (such as Bisquick)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, biscuit mix, green onions, garlic powder, dried parsley, and cayenne pepper. Mix until well blended.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately brush the sausage balls with melted butter for extra flavor and moisture.
  6. Serve warm as an appetizer or snack.

Notes

For a milder flavor, use mild sausage and omit the cayenne pepper. These sausage balls also freeze well—freeze cooked, cooled balls in a sealed container and reheat before serving.
