Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • 1 cup caramel squares, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • Chopped nuts, sprinkles, or sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples. Slice them into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel squares and milk or cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  3. Dip each apple slice into the melted caramel, coating about halfway. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. In another microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  5. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the caramel-coated apple slices.
  6. If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts, sprinkles, or a pinch of sea salt.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the caramel and chocolate to set before serving.

Notes

For a fun twist, use different types of chocolate, like white chocolate or dark chocolate. You can also add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the apples before dipping them in caramel.
