Cajun Sausage Pasta

A flavorful Cajun Sausage Pasta combining spicy sausage with creamy sauce and tender pasta for a quick and satisfying dinner.

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 12 oz Cajun sausage, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced Cajun sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add diced onion, red bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until vegetables are tender, about 4 minutes.
  4. Stir in Cajun seasoning, then pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes to thicken.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  6. Mix in grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or serve with crushed red pepper flakes on the side.
