Alfredo Sauce

A rich and creamy Alfredo sauce made with butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese, perfect for elevating your pasta dishes with authentic Italian flavor.

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to low and gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  7. Toss immediately with cooked pasta or use as desired.

Notes

For extra depth of flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or a splash of white wine during the simmering step.
